This magnificent one of a kind statue made of Mahogany wood portraying the last days of the Gautama Supreme Buddha after relinquishing the will to live. Every square inch of this rare and irreplaceable piece of art is carefully and meticulously crafted by our artist for over the course of 3 months.
Gautama Buddha, the founder of the Buddhism, the path that leads to cessation of suffering, was the heir apparent of King Suddhodana and with the potential of becoming the Universal Monarch before becoming an enlightened one. The Enlightened Gautama Buddha had a greater complexion and an exceptionally beautiful body. However after the life of eighty years and with a 45 year long compassionate and outstanding service to all beings Gautama Buddha decided to relinquish the will to live and attain Parinibana. The thorough, intricate detailing of this carving show signs of ageing and wrinkles the Buddha had at the age of 80 when he attained Parinibbana.
